On Monday, March 16, a delegation composed of Vice Principal Xu Xuchang, Assistant to Principal Lin Qian, and Assistant to Principal Lu Dan of AFLS went on an observatory trip to the No. 42 Middle School of Xinxiang City, Henan Province to experience the new learning model of digital platform.
Since the 1980’s, IT-based education has become an irreversible trend in educational development across the globe. In order to seize up this opportunity, to tap into the digital educational resources available at the website of 101 Distance Education developed and maintained by Beijing Hongcheng Education Corporation, and to enhance the educational quality and improve the comprehensive quality of the students of the school, AFLS has decided to push forward in IT-based education, and therefore chosen for observation the No. 42 Middle School of Xinxiang City as it has cooperated with the website of 101 Distance Education for up to 3 years.
In a demonstrative English class for grade 8 students, each of the students was equipped with a laptop, which was operated by the student fluently as required by the teacher to answer questions posed and do exercises assigned. In contrast to normal classes, the digital platform makes it possible for teacher’s assessment of students’ responses to questions and exercises stored in and displayed on computers instantly, which enables in-time review by the teacher and finding out of their own problems by the students for one another intuitively, and therefore enhances efficiency on both teaching and learning sides.
It’s believed the spring of IT-based education will come early here at AFLS with the general trend of educational development around the globe and the persistent pursuit by us at AFLS.
